NAME OF BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH’S SON REVEALED 16

Although no official announcement has yet been made, multiple sources are now claiming to know the name of Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter’s baby boy – Christopher Carlton Cumberbatch.

Carlton is a Cumberbatch family middle name shared by Benedict, his father and grandfather.

The couple announced their son’s birth rather quietly in June via a statement read by a spokesperson which said:

“Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son.”

The announcement also asked that the new parents be given privacy so they could spend precious time with their little boy.

Prior to the birth, in February, Benedict spoke of his eagerness to take a break from acting and dedicate time instead to the preparations that come with impending parenthood, saying in an interview with the Daily Mail:

“I’ve been on muddy fields and on horseback playing Richard III for the BBC and I’ve been on more flights to Los Angeles and back than I can count. All of that has been special, but I’m ready to have a couple of months to ourselves to prepare for the baby and do some nesting. It’s a real-life role, not a part.”

Since the arrival of his first child, Cumberbatch had been busy in rehearsals prior to taking to the stage at London’s Barbican Theatre last month were he has since received mixed reviews from critics for his portrayal of Hamlet, though unsurprisingly, his army of fans and especially those fortunate enough to have gotten a ticket, have been much kinder with their comments.

Benedict will also be back on TV and cinema screens in the near future thanks to a Sherlock special due to air around Christmas and his casting in the lead role of Doctor Strange.

BROOKE LEWIS REFLECTS ON HER ‘OLD HOLLYWOOD’ MARRIAGE PROPOSAL 8

Whether you believe in love and marriage or not, it’s safe to say that most women dream about romantic proposals and their dream wedding. Brooke Lewis’ dreams have now come true as, in her own words: “Holding out for my true soul mate and best friend proved to be worth the wait, as I received the best night and birthday of a lifetime.”

Lewis met her now-fiancé Mark Steven almost two years ago, at which time she was working as a dating expert. The pair have since shared several incredible and romantic experiences together, with Brooke admitting: “Mark knows me better than anyone.”

A self-confessed control freak detective who cannot (or so she thought) be surprised, Lewis got the surprise of her life when, in wanting to create an extra special birthday for her, Mark pulled off her very own Old Hollywood Movie Proposal” – the kind she had always dreamed of.

Her birthday afternoon began by being taken to Glamourax salon to have her make-up done before after returning home for a while, at 4pm, she stepped out of the front door to find a 1940’s Cadillac limo waiting for the two of them. Taking a drive, with the bubbly opened, Mark made a toast and handed her the first of the nights’ surprises – orchestra seat tickets to see Hamilton.

With dinner reservations made, the limo made its way towards the Hollywood sign, a sight Lewis has always wanted to see, before detouring to drop them at the Griffith Observatory. Brooke explains what happened next:

“Mark took my hand and led me to the “James Dean” section with the greatest view of the Hollywood sign. At this point, it was 108 degrees, we were dripping in sweat. I was a total “Hot Mess” and told Mark I was going to take one photo, then I was ready to go. As I turned around, he was on one knee, PROPOSING! The rest is such a blur, as I looked up to see one of my favorite red carpet photographers, Greg Doherty, shooting photos of our engagement. Talk about feeling like a true movie Star!! Greg took us for a romantic photo shoot around the Observatory, as I cried tears of joy!”

The newly-engaged couple then moved on to dinner at one of Lewis’ old school New York places, Rao’s. Mark had reserved their favourite Tony Soprano table – Brooke’s actress dream is to play a role like Carmela Soprano – and then, in a moment that was completely unplanned, one of her favourite Frank Sinatra songs, “My Way” began to play. An evening at the theatre followed before the couple headed home for one last champagne toast.

Reflecting on her amazing night, Lewis says:

“I realize that a “hot mess” of a girl from across the country can have her Hollywood dreams come true.”

Congratulations to Brooke and Mark!

X FACTOR UK: LIAM PAYNE & STORMZY CONFIRMED TO PERFORM ON 28 & 29 OCTOBER 3

The guest performers for the first X Factor live shows have been revealed.

On Saturday 28 October, former One Direction star Liam Payne will take to the stage for a world exclusive performance of his latest solo single ‘Bedroom Floor’. Known for belonging to the internationally successful boy band One Direction, Payne first became involved with entertainment and the arts when he was a member of the Pink Productions Theatre Company at the age of 12, going on to develop a magnetic stage presence. He first made his foray into the public eye when he auditioned for the 2008 series of The X Factor with his rendition of Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me to the Moon.” Initially unsuccessful, he was advised by judge Simon Cowell to “come back in two years.” The young vocalist did just that, and returned to the show in 2010, flooring the panel with his performance of Michael Bublé’s version of the classic American torch song, “Cry Me a River.” He failed to progress to the Boys category at the judges’ houses, however, but following a suggestion from guest judge Nicole Scherzinger, he was subsequently placed in a group of four other boys who had not progressed to the Boys category either; this led to the formation of what would become One Direction, and Payne (alongside fellow contestants and future bandmembers Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik) spent the following weeks rehearsing and getting to know one another. After their qualifying song (a cover of Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn”) propelled them further on the show, the group quickly gained widespread attention and popularity throughout the U.K. The band went on to experience success after they signed with Cowell’s Syco imprint in 2010, with their first studio effort, Up All Night arriving the following November. Subsequent years saw the release of Take Me Home (2012), Midnight Memories (2013), Four (2014), and Made in the A.M. (2015), all of which were monumentally successful and charted at number one. Payne was lauded for his eclectic vocal range and songwriting skills (as one of the principal songwriters for the group). During the summer of 2014, he founded Hampton Music Limited, his own creative umbrella for future non-One Direction-related material. Payne decided to work as a producer using the moniker of “Payno” (and occasionally “Big Payno”). He teamed up with production duo AfterHrs and they remixed Cheryl Cole’s 2014 single “I Don’t Care.” Payne also received co-writing credits on some of the material from the accompanying album, Only Human. The mid- to late 2010s saw him release solo material and other independent endeavors; he collaborated with a host of various artists such as fellow English songwriter Jamie Scott on the track “The Night We Met,” the Irish pop outfit Hometown, and was featured on the track “You” with rappers Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J. In May of 2017, Payne put out his first official single, “Strip That Down,” a slow-burning, midtempo trap- and R&B-inspired cut he co-wrote with Ed Sheeran and producer Steve Mac. The track also featured hip-hop artist Quavo. “Strip That Down” charted within the top 5 in the charts of Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. The single reached number 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100 on the issue dated 16 September 2017, becoming Payne’s first top ten as a solo artist and Quavo’s fourth. With his top ten, Payne became the third member of One Direction to achieve a solo top 10 single on the Hot 100, following Zayn and Harry Styles.

On Sunday 29 October, British grime and hip-hop superstar Stormzy will be taking to the stage for his debut performance on the show. He won Best Grime Act at the 2014 and 2015 MOBO Awards and was named as an artist to look out for in the BBC’s influential Sound of 2015 list. His most successful song to date is the BPI gold-selling “Shut Up”, which was initially released as a freestyle on YouTube. The track was then officially released and got to number eight on the UK Singles Chart after Stormzy launched a campaign to reach Christmas number one. His debut album, Gang Signs & Prayer, was released on 24 February 2017 and was the first grime album to reach number one on the UK Albums Chart. He has also already had a major role to play in this year’s competition after assisting Nicole at her judges houses.

The X Factor live shows air on Saturday (28 October) at 8.20pm and Sunday (29 October) at 7pm.
