With a sound and style that can only be described as something like the love-child of Julian Cabablancas and Berlin-era Bowie – quite a combo, I know – Australian based prog-pop artist Dan Webb is destined to make 2017 the year he becomes a voice in music fans’ ears around the world.
His latest track “Let Them Eat Cake” is politically driven with its subject matter focusing heavily on the hacking of DNC servers during the elections, but with name-checks including Katy Perry and Bernie Sanders, it’s far from a dull listen.
The song is taken from Webb’s new album Oedipus The King which, like Green Day’s American Idiot did, carries with it a strong political message, examining in detail and through an array of catchy, thought-provoking tracks, the carnage and chaos that make up politics and government in this day and age.
