MICHELLE BRANCH ANNOUNCES HER RETURN WITH NEW ALBUM ‘HOPELESS ROMANTIC’ 5

It might be hard to believe but it’s been over 15 years since Michelle Branch burst onto the music scene with her major label debut album The Spirit Room and almost 14 years since she last released solo music.

On April 7th however, the Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter will return with her fourth studio album Hopeless Romantic. The new collection of 14 songs was recorded mostly in LA and produced with the help of Patrick Carney of The Black Keys, and Gus Seyffert who has worked with Norah Jones and Sia.

In her own words, Branch sums up the album by saying that:

“A lot of these songs are about heartbreak, but knowing that it doesn’t mean the end of the world. It just means letting go and moving on and knowing that you’re going to be okay. This is my first real-life autobiographical record.”

The track-list for the album is below and UK tour dates are expected to be announced in the near future.

ITV ANNOUNCES LINE-UP FOR ‘LAST LAUGH IN VEGAS’ 17

ITV has unveiled the ensemble cast of veteran entertainers for a new TV series.

The line-up of eight acts will venture to Las Vegas to work on putting together a brand new variety show.

Due to be broadcast in 2018, Last Laugh In Vegas will follow the acts “from their departure from their homes in the UK to the moment they step onto the stage in Vegas” over four episodes, with a fifth hour-long edition special showing their performance.

The channel explains: “Some of the most famous names from comedy, music and variety from the 1960s, 70s and 80s are to be given one last shot at putting on their dream gig in the variety capital of the world. The theatre is booked for one night only and eight acts will be given the chance to fulfil the dream they thought had long gone and put on a spectacular variety performance at one of the iconic venues in Las Vegas.”

It is understood that the ultimate performance will take place on Saturday 7th October.

The line-up features double act Cannon & Ball; entertainer Bernie Clifton; comedian Mick Miller; pianist and entertainer Bobby Crush; singer Kenny Lynch; 60s pop idol Jess Conrad OBE; actor and singer Anita Harris; and actor, singer and comedian Su Pollard.

ITV add: “Viewers will also be treated to a unique insight into the legends’ vast and varied careers as they look back and talk firsthand about their incredible stories.”

Head Of Entertainment Commissioning Siobhan Greene says: “Last Laugh In Vegas is the chance for the audience to reconnect with true iconic entertainers, as they get the trip of a lifetime to perform in the show business capital of the world. You won’t believe the names we got, and I am so happy that they, and the audience, will get to see them living their dream.”

Executive Producer Sally Evans from production company Shiver says: “Working with our showbiz heroes and giving them the chance to go on a journey that genuinely means so much to each of them is such an exciting proposition. The entertainment community of Vegas won’t know what’s hit them!”

The series is being filmed for broadcast in 2018.

68-year-old confectionery shop worker Ronnie Parker from Preston tells Simon Cowell off at her audition for asking her age before she sings Tina Turner’s Simply The Best for the music mogul.

John Fitzsimons

66-year-old retired lecturer John Fitzsimons from Exeter started playing music in bands from the age of 19. With over 20 years of experience, John performs David Bowie’s Space Oddity for the judges.

Sean and Conor Price

Brothers Sean (17) and Conor (15) are students and buskers from Blessington, Ireland. They “bring a bit of youth and energy” to Jimi Hendrix classic All Along The Watchtower.

Russell Jones

25 year-old nursing home singer Russell Jones from Wales gets flirting with Nicole Scherzinger and cheeky with the rest of the judges as he performs his take on The Jungle Book classic I Wanna Be Like You.

Gregor Coleman

24 year-old singer Gregor Coleman from Glasgow currently busks but it may have given him some bad habits. After singing Vance Joy’s Riptide at his original audition, the judges tell Gregor to come back later with something more unique.

Nicole Simpson

22-year-old musician Nicole Simpson from Scotland returns to The X Factor having previously made bootcamp in 2011. She performs Drake’s Just Hold On for the panel, including guest judge Alesha Dixon.
