SIMON RIMMER JOINS STRICTLY COME DANCING 9

Simon Rimmer is the seventh celebrity contestant confirmed for the brand new series of Strictly Come Dancing. The 15th series of the BAFTA award-winning entertainment show produced by BBC Studios will return in the autumn on BBC One putting the sparkle back into Saturday and Sunday nights.

Simon said in a statement:

“I am so excited, terrified and proud to be invited to be part of Strictly 2017. I’ve always been a HUUUUGE fan of the show. When I put on my sequins and hit the floor it will genuinely be my very first time dancing ballroom and latin. Nobody will try harder, have more fun or get more out of it than me. I can’t wait.”

Simon Rimmer is best-known for being the chef and co-presenter on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch. He has presented and cooked across many shows and channels including BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and UKTV; and his numerous credits include Tricks of the Restaurant Trade, Breaking into Tesco’s, Eat the Week, Great British Menu and Win It, Cook It. Aside from his TV work, Simon has also written and published five successful books and he regularly contributes to food magazines. He is a chef/owner of nine restaurants in the North West of England and one in Dubai.

Simon Rimmer joins Joe McFadden, Reverend Richard Coles, Gemma Atkinson, Ruth Langsford, Davood Ghadami and Mollie King who have also been confirmed for the new series.

X FACTOR UK: BOYS & GROUPS JUDGES HOUSES SONG CHOICES REVEALED 6

The Boys and Groups take on judges’ houses on The X Factor 2017 tonight.

The live shows are now less than a week away as the last of the remaining 24 X Factor contestants as they jet off to Judges’ Houses in a bid to land a coveted place in the final stages.

Offering a glimpse into the jet set lifestyle that The X Factor winner could have, the four categories travel to glamorous destinations across the world and with just one more chance to impress their mentor, each act will be hoping to convince them that they have the star quality required to reach the live shows.

This evening the focus is on the Groups, in France with Simon Cowell and the Boys, in Istanbul with Louis Walsh.

With crucial decisions to be made, each judge has help at hand from guest judges who know all about what it takes to make it in the industry: Simon reunites with former X Factor judge and singer Cheryl and Louis is joined by Brit Award winner and Grammy nominated singer songwriter Mika.

The six in each category will be singing for their mentor and guest judges for one of three places in the live shows.

At the end of it all, the mentors will pick their finalists and reveal the happy/heartbreaking news to each act.

The X Factor 2017 judges’ houses airs tonight at 7PM before the live shows begin next weekend.

X FACTOR UK: WILDCARD VOTE CONFIRMED 9

A X Factor 2017 wild card twist has been confirmed, with the public getting their say.

At the end of judges’ houses on SUNDAY night, details of the wildcard twist will be announced, host Dermot O’Leary teased at the end of tonight’s (Saturday) show.

Viewers will get the opportunity to give a second chance to acts who have been sent home, voting them through to the live shows next weekend.

It’s understood there will be FOUR wild card acts – one in each category.

Quite who could be eligible hasn’t been revealed, with the confirmed details and voting information appearing at the end of Sunday’s show.

At the end of tomorrow’s episode, we’ll know the full list of Top 12 finalists in the live shows, plus those who didn’t make it.

Tonight saw the Girls find out their fate as Sharon Osbourne said goodbye to Alisah Bonaobra, Deanna Mussington and Georgina Panton.

But it was good news for Grace Davies, Rai-Elle Williams and Holly Tandy who are now all in the live shows of The X Factor 2017.

Meanwhile, in the Overs category, it was bad news for Talia Dean, Slavko and Berget Lewis who were all sent home by Nicole Scherzinger.

However Nicole said yes to Kevin Davy White, Matt Linnen and Tracy Leanne Jefford who will sing live next weekend.

Sunday night will see the final three acts in the Groups and Boys revealed.

The contestants competing are Simon Cowell’s Groups: The Cutkelvins, Rak-Su, Sean & Conor Price, Jack & Joel, Lemonade and the New Girl Band.

And Louis Walsh’s Boys: Lloyd Macey, Leon Mallett, Spencer Sutherland, Aidan Martin, Jack Mason and Sam Black, who replaced Anthony Russell who quit.

Factor 2017 judges’ houses continues Sunday night from 7PM on ITV.
