The special guests for the X Factor semi final have been revealed.

Taking to the stage on Saturday, global megastar Ed Sheeran will take to the stage for a exclusive performance. He released his debut album ‘+’ (pronounced “plus”) in 2011. Spawning his hit single‘The A Team’, the song became the biggest-selling debut single release of that year, firmly cementing him on the map as one of the most talented and in-demand songwriters of a generation. In 2014, he released his follow-up LP ‘x’ (pronounced “multiply”). Bolstered by the likes of Pharrell Williams and Benny Blanco on production, ‘x’ charted at #1 on both sides of the Atlantic upon release, spawned his global smash ‘Thinking Out Loud’ and has even been named one of the biggest-selling albums of all time by The Official Charts Company: the album is now 90 x platinum and has sold 15 million copies worldwide. In July 2015, Sheeran became the first-ever artist to headline Wembley Stadium, solo, without a band – with just his loop pedal and guitar – over three, consecutive sold out nights. Having just released his history-making third studio album ‘÷’ (pronounced “divide”), which has become one of the biggest-selling releases in recent years – it has sold over 7 million copies in a little over two months – Ed Sheeran continues to dominate charts across the globe. The troubadour has continually broken records since his comeback in January this year, even becoming the most-streamed artist in the world! Ed’s latest LP spawned his mammoth single “Shape Of You”, which remained at No.1 in the UK for 14 weeks, and he also become the first-ever artist to have two songs debut in USA’s Billboard ‘Top 10’ during the same week, with the other being “Castle on the Hill”. The Suffolk native has won an array of awards over his career to date including 1 American Music Award, 4 Brit Awards, 2 Echo Awards, 2 Grammy Awards, 2 Ivor Novello Awards, 3 MTV EMAs, 2 MTV VMAs, 3 Q Awards and many more.

On Sunday, 2012 X Factor UK winner James Arthur will be back on the X with a world exclusive performance of his new single Naked, which will be released this Friday. His debut single Impossible become the biggest X Factor winner’s single of all time, kept the #1 chart spot for three weeks, went platinum in the UK and was nominated for a Brit Award. His self-titled first album, featuring the No. 2 single You’re Nobody Until Somebody Loves You and collaborations with Naughty Boy and Emeli Sande, was certified Gold in the UK after worldwide sales of over 400,000. His comeback single Say You Won’t Let Go, eached number one on the UK Singles Chart, becoming his second chart topper and making him the first male winner to date to have two UK number one singles. The song remained on the top spot for three consecutive weeks. In January 2017, the single became his first chart entry on the Billboard charts in the US. By the second week of January 2017, it had surpassed the 1 million sales mark in the UK, making James the first-ever ‘X Factor’ act to have two singles sell over a million copies in his homeland as well as the 21st act in UK chart history to have two or more million sellers.[74] As of February 2017, it had sold two million copies worldwide.
