The girls’ second single ‘Wings’ went straight in at No. 1 after its release in August 2012, with their debut album ‘DNA’ (released in Nov 2012) charting at No. 3 in the UK album chart. ‘DNA’ debuted at No.4 in the US Billboard Chart, making it the highest Billboard entry chart position for a debut album by a British girl-group.

CNCO is Latin music’s newest phenomenon. This group emerged from Univisión’s musical competition, La Banda, which is executive-produced by Simon Cowell’s SYCO Entertainment, the global icon Ricky Martin, Univisión Communications Inc., and Haim Saban’s Saban Brands. It is co-produced by FremantleMedia Latin America. At the conclusion of this 13-week program, five contestants were able to achieve their goal of joining CNCO – Christopher Vélez, Erick Brian Colón, Joel Pimentel, Richard Camacho and Zabdiel de Jesús. They won over millions of viewers, along with the renowned judges of La Banda: Ricky Martin, Laura Pausini and Alejandro Sanz. Winning a spot on this band comes with the reward of a recording contract with Sony Music Latin, and a management deal with an all-pro team led by Ricky Martin. Comprising five young men, this group is really to show its talent to the world and launch a long-lasting career. Just one day after being announced as the winners on La Banda, CNCO accomplished the milestone of its first public performance, singing at New York City’s Times Square as part of Univisión’s ¡Feliz 2016! program to ring in the new year. They’re now immersed in the recording studio where they’re preparing their first album, which is being produced by the urban-music legend Wisin. The group’s first single, “Tan Fácil” (So Easy), debuted in late January. Just hours after its release, it reached #1 on the iTunes Latin singles chart.
On January 30, CNCO gave its first full concert at The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater. Even bigger stages awaited the group in February and March, as CNCO joined the legendary Ricky Martin’s One World Tour, opening for him on his Puerto Rico, Argentina and Chile performances. Afterwards, the group traveled to Ecuador for a promotional tour that allowed the members to meet their quickly growing legions of fans, known as CNCOwners, in the Andean nation. The group also visited major media outlets, giving interviews with the national and international press.

Making their UK debut will be US boyband PRETTYMUCH. The five-member group first popped up on Instagram in February and have been filling their feed with dance and song covers ever since, performing everything from Drake‘s “Passionfruit” to Michael Jackson‘s “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough.”Like most iconic boy bands before them (Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, One Direction, etc.), there are five of them. Austin Porter is the oldest, having just turned 20 in August. He’s from a small town in North Carolina, and he’s the one with floppy blond hair and a super artsy Instagram. Nick Mara, from Manalapan, New Jersey, is 19, and got his start as a hip-hop dancer; he’s arguably the most fleet-footed of the bunch. Then there’s Edwin Honoret, a Bronx, New York, native who got his start singing cover songs on Instagram. You can usually find him rocking a fanny pack (and somehow making it look cool). The Canadian of the group is Zion Kuwonu, a health nut with dreads who’s 18 and from Ontario. And the youngest is Brandon Arreaga, a bespectacled 17-year-old from Corinth, Texas, who’s also a talented producer. Each of the guys were pursuing solo careers when Cowell recognized their potential, plucked them out of obscurity, and melded them into a group that inked a deal with Columbia Records and SYCO Entertainment. Sound familiar? That’s because Cowell has done the same thing with One Direction and Fifth Harmony — clearly it’s a business model that works. They were formed into a group in 2016, and moved into a house in Los Angeles shortly afterward. For a year, they worked on perfecting their vocals and dance moves, and also took time to get to know one another — they’ve said they wanted to become friends first, bandmates second. The official PRETTYMUCH Instagram account launched on February 14, 2017 (Valentine’s Day, awww), and they filled their feed with videos of them performing a cappella covers (everything from Drake to Michael Jackson), dancing, skateboarding, and throwing pool parties. Through word of mouth, buzz-worthy videos, and a constant social media presence, they quickly built up a fervent fanbase begging for more.Their fans are lovingly nicknamed BEANZ. The guys have shared two singles thus far. The first was “Would You Mind,” a massive, ‘90s-influenced banger written by hitmaker Savan Kotecha (who also wrote One Direction’s breakout hit, “What Makes You Beautiful,” along with The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” and Ariana Grande’s “Side to Side,” to name a few). Once it became permanently lodged into the brains of all who heard it (seriously, it’s an earworm), they followed up with “Teacher,” a playful, R&B-leaning jam that, according to the guys, is all about “women empowerment.” PRETTYMUCH haven’t announced a title or release date as of yet, but a full album is definitely imminent. Speaking to MTV News about it, they revealed that they have a “nice arsenal of songs” so far, with a French Montana feature, Spanish flavor, a cappella action, reggae, and even “campfire vibes” courtesy of Ed Sheeran, who wrote them a tune. Sounds like these guys are very much laying the groundwork for a PRETTYMUCH takeover.

P!nk, Sam Smith, PRETTYMUCH, Louis Tomlinson, CNCO and Little Mix will take to the stage over the weekend in what will be the biggest weekend of the year!

HOLLYOAKS CONFIRMS SCHIZOAFFECTIVE DISORDER STORYLINE 31

Hollyoaks are set to launch a powerful new mental health storyline for Alfie Nightingale as he starts hearing a voice and is diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder.

The teenager has been struggling to cope with life since the loss of his soulmate Jade Albright and his loved ones started to fear that he was exhibiting odd behaviour when he worked on a robot to replace Jade.

But in coming weeks, when a voice in Alfie’s head starts communicating with him and ordering him to do things, it becomes clear that things are extremely serious. And Hollyoaks has been working with the charity Mind to ensure that it represents the condition with sensitivity and accuracy.

The storyline, which will form part of the soap’s award-winning #DontFilterFeelings campaign

In episodes due to air at the beginning of April, Alfie will freak out when a voice in his head tells him not to trust his family and when he tries to ignore it and goes stargazing with Ellie, he is continuously plagued by the voice which is warning him off.

It is just the beginning of a difficult journey for Alfie who will be given the diagnosis, which involves patients experiencing psychotic symptoms not dissimilar to schizophrenia and the mood symptoms of bipolar disorder.

Richard Linnell who plays Alfie said: ‘I feel deeply honoured to have been trusted with such a strong and complex story for Alfie. We’ve been working closely with both Mind, and talking to people who have been kind enough to share their personal experiences of the condition.

‘It’s going to be a tumultuous road ahead for Alfie and in telling a deeply truthful, powerful story we hope to continue to break down the stigmas surrounding mental health as a whole.’

A spokesperson for Mind added: ‘We are so pleased that Hollyoaks are tackling the mental health condition Schizoaffective Disorder and have enjoyed working with them over many months. We know that when done well soap storylines can have a really positive affect on a huge audience, changing attitudes and encouraging people to seek help.’

As part of the #DontFilterFeelings campaign, which has included other storylines such as Scott’s depression and Lily’s self harm, Hollyoaks also sought the help and advice of mental health campaigner Jonny Benjamin, who helped to create the acclaimed Channel 4 documentary Stranger On A Bridge.

He said: ‘It was a real privilege to work with Hollyoaks on this storyline. The soap has done fantastic work in increasing understanding and reducing stigma attached to mental health issues in the past. The team I worked with were wonderful.

‘I really hope this storyline will make an impact on public perception of Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorder, which has for too long been misconceived and feared. I’m so pleased Hollyoaks have been brave and bold enough to tackle this sensitive subject.’

The storyline kicks off on Wednesday 4th April at 7pm on E4.
