LINE UP CONFIRMED FOR THE BRITS ARE COMING 2018 50

2017 BRITs host, the fabulous Emma Willis will announce The BRIT Awards 2018 nominations live on ITV on Saturday 13 January with performances from some incredible British recording talent – Liam Payne, Paloma Faith, Clean Bandit, J Hus and 2018 Critics’ Choice winner Jorja Smith.

Emma co-hosted The BRITs 2017 with Dermot O’Leary and also fronted last year’s launch. She said: “I am delighted to be back hosting ‘The BRITs Are Coming’, it’s always a fun show to be involved in and I can’t wait to find out which acts have been nominated in 2018.”

Some of the most exciting British artists of the moment will perform on the night. 2017 saw One Direction’s Liam Payne launch his solo career with single ‘Strip That Down’, selling over six million records worldwide. Paloma Faith’s recently released her fourth studio album ‘The Architect’ which went straight to Number 1. She is one of the most successful British female artists of the last decade and alongside Adele is the only British female to have three platinum albums under her belt.

With almost 25 million records sold across the globe, including seven Top 5 singles and three UK Number 1’s, Clean Bandit have secured themselves as one of the biggest British pop acts of the past five years. J Hus has had an amazing 2017 releasing one of the year’s biggest British Breakthrough albums ‘Common Sense’ which charted in the UK Top 10, went Gold and secured him a spot on the Mercury Prize shortlist.

Jorja Smith was selected by music industry experts from over 100 artists as the 2018 BRITs Critics’ Choice. Her win topped off an incredible year which saw her collaborate with international superstar, Drake on his ‘More Life’ playlist.

2018 BRIT AWARDS: THE NOMINATIONS REVEALED 12

The nominations for the BRIT Awards 2018 have been announced, with Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran and Rag’n’Bone Man leading the way with the most nods.

Dua is up for five gongs at this year’s ceremony, including British Female, British Breakthrough and the coveted Album of the Year with her self-titled debut – the only female act in the category.

She’s also up for British Breakthrough following her success in 2017, as well as British Single and Video for her viral smash and chart-topping single New Rules.

Unsurprisingly, Ed Sheeran has earned himself a few nominations after a phenomenally successful year – he’s up for British Male, Album of the Year and British Single and Video for Shape Of You. You may remember he had the Official biggest single and album of 2017.

Other big breakthrough acts to score nominations are Rag’n’Bone Man, who is up for three prizes including Album of the Year, as is afrobeats star J HusStormzy completes this year’s best album category with his debut Gang Signs & Prayer.

When it comes to the bands, Gorillaz, London Grammar, Royal Blood, Wolf Alice and The xx are competing for British Group, while Foo Fighters and The Killers are among those up for the International Group prize.

For the international artists, Kendrick Lamar will be battling it out with Drake, DJ Khaled, Childish Gambino and Beck for best male, while Taylor Swift, P!nk, Lorde, Bjork and Alicia Keys are nominated for International Female.

This year’s BRIT Awards take place on February 21 and will be broadcast live from London’s O2 Arena on ITV. Check out last year’s winner’s and nominees in full here.

RAG N BONE MAN CONFIRMED FOR 2018 BRIT AWARDS 13

We are so pleased to announce the 2017 winner of the BRITs Critics’ Choice and British Breakthrough awards Rag’n’Bone Man will be performing live at this year’s award ceremony on 21 February. He will join an already exceptional line-up which so far includes Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Foo Fighters, Sam Smith and Stormzy.

In the last year, Rag’n’Bone Man has broken the record for fastest-selling UK male debut of the decade with his 3x Platinum No. 1 album  ‘Human’ which has sold 2.5 million copies worldwide.

Rag’n’Bone Man said: “Jheez! 2017 has flown by super quick. Its pretty mental to think that I bagged two awards at The BRITs last year and now I’m heading back to perform. I’m looking forward to being a part of the celebration with everyone. It’s going to be a good one for sure!”
