Kitty made TV history when she was the first ever blind person cast in a British soap. It was only shortly before she got the part of Lizzie that she lost her sight, soon after the traumatic birth of her son Felix which led to heart problems and kidney failure among other issues.
She tried laser treatment in an effort to save her sight, but aged 32, she lost her vision completely and tragically, her son died soon after, aged just 15 months.
She joined the soap in 2009 but due to health reasons, had to exit the show in 2013. She was later cast in the upcoming film The Unfolding which is due to have its premiere on August 28.
