Russian born singer-songwriter Ksenia knows a few things about dreaming big. Growing up in the small town of Nakhodka where she took up learning classical piano and entered a number of musical competitions, she had a desire to see more of the world and at the same time, show the world what she could do. Fast forward to 2019 and she’s well and truly making her mark on the music world, having moved to New York in 2010. Now, and with an MFA in acting and film from the city’s Academy to her name, she’s using her passion for creativity to share her talents with as many people as possible.
With her new EP Fire With Fire out in February, Ksenia is closing out a busy year with release of her new single “Keep Walking”, and ThisIsTheLatest are delighted to premiere its video.
Asked about the meaning behind the track and the creative process behind the video, Ksenia says:
““Keep Walking” was inspired by one narcissistic person. Narcissists love to play mind games. It’s a cruel game they play, you think there is something real going on but for them, it’s just a game so they can feed their huge ego! That’s why there are lyrics “it was a love story without love and heartbreak without heart,” because it was just a game all along. By the time I figured that out, I didn’t curse him out. I just said to “Keep walking!”
I’m super excited to release dance music video for my new song! My performance shots were on the Brooklyn Bridge, as I wanted it to be a metaphor that I am crossing that bridge and I am done. I also wanted to tell a story through dancing as well. I am super passionate about ballroom dancing but I’m a beginner at it. The biggest challenge was to dance and act and to lock my knees. The rumba is soo hard, but I love it! Hope you enjoy the video!”
