Fresh off her recent Grammy win for “Best New Artist”, American pop-star Meghan Trainor has released the first single from her upcoming album Thank You titled “NO”.
The track which premiered yesterday, is a ‘girl-power independent’ anthem, showcasing the confidence Trainor has developed since first bursting on to the music scene, while lyrically, it works as a strong demonstration of her song-writing capabilities.
“NO” also moves her away from the more cheesy-pop numbers that featured heavily on her debut album Title, and instead, the track has a heavy R&B, hip-hop feel to it which was created with the help of Jason Derulo and Pitbull producer Ricky Reed.
Trainor’s music has already been featured on shows including The Originals and she’s also up for two awards at this year’s iHeartRadio Awards – “Female Artist of the Year” and “Best Collaboration” for “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” which features John Legend.
She is already a multi-platinum selling artist with Title having received more than 900 million streams globally while her videos having been watched more than two billion times on VEVO and 2016 looks set to be an even bigger year for Massachusetts singer.
“NO” is available now on itunes where Thank You is also available for pre-order ahead of its release on May 13.
