Millie Mackintosh and rapper Professor Green have announced they are to separate after two years of marriage.
The couple released a joint statement on Saturday (February 20), saying: “It is with sadness and regret that we confirm our separation.
“It is a mutual decision, we still care deeply about each other and would like it to be known that it is on amicable terms and we wish each other well.”
Mackintosh and Professor Green, real name Stephen Manderson, started dating in December 2009 and were married almost four years later in September 2013.
The couple’s relationship has faced intense scrutiny over the years, with Manderson once shutting down reports of their marriage problems as “malicious and unfounded BS”.
These new reports come a few weeks after Manderson posted a photo of his wife on his Instagram page, in which he mentioned it was the first day they’d spent together all year.
Mackintosh also recently defended their relationship in a recent issue of Cosmopolitan UK, saying: “It’s ridiculous to think that people from different backgrounds can’t be together.
”That’s just an old-fashioned thing to say. It’s a bit Downton Abbey, which is fine on TV but [not in real life].”
