This episode starts within the Atrian sector at 21:00 hours after some commotion when there’s a huge explosion where some guards are caught ablaze; this is being cover by the news channels across the state. The scene shifts to Emery’s house with a fully cured Julia (Malese Jow)
Roman and his sister, Sophia (Brina Palencia) prepare for the funeral of their father, Nox, who was killed at the end of the pilot episode. When their uncle, Castor (Johnathon Schaech) pays a visit offering his brother’s family help in this time of need and who also wants to take over where his brother left off.
This causes some tension between nephew and uncle that results in Roman saying that he’s ready to be the leader of their tribe in front of the Tribe Council of Elders.
Emery tries to talk to Roman but he dismisses her existence. Upset Emery turns to Grayson (Grey Damon). Due to the death of Nox, the Principal tells the students that security has been strengthen, but Taylor just complains that homecoming might be cancelled.
Emery’s father, Ray, announces that he’s taking a leave of absence after the shooting; this was backed up by Beaumont who says that they are doing random pod searches in the Atrian Sector. Gloria tells them that they need to work on making peace between the two races. Robert Vartan (of the Red Hawk Group?) (I have no idea who they are) says that the Atrians are colonising the Earth and that they have figured out to blend in with humans and have found a way to get of their tattoos.
Emery ends up campaigning for the Atrians to come to the homecoming and that they aren’t terrorists, but teenagers, and that the Atrians have no reason to trust the humans and they need to give them a reason to trust them.
Lukas tells Emery that he uploaded her speech about the homecoming carnival to his blog, Zoe says that the speech was badass but others aren’t happy with her.
Roman was tasked with bringing the Trags under control which he initially declined, but after overhearing about the plan of the Trags he goes to the carnival after seeing that the targets are Emery, her mother and father, Ray. The leader being Hadar who had initiated some recruits for the attack. Roman informs Castor who promises that he will help.
Julia is seen scanning tickets when Lukas and Emery show up. The Atrians arrive where Taylor scans their tickets and Drake flirts with her, she smiles flirtingly back. A little girl comes up and gives Teri a bracelet which she takes and thanks her for.
Sophia and Lukas are talking when he says that he is sorry about her Dad and that he will pray for him, Sophia says that she forgot that humans did that. Emery and Roman share tender moments together when Teri interrupts and informs them that Drake is missing. Roman goes off in search for the Trags and goes after the man under a black hood, who Roman tackles revealing that it’s Beaumont without his marks on his face. Beaumont says that killing Emery and her family will send a strong message to the humans. Roman asks how many there are and he tells him many.
Emery and Grayson finds that Eric had kidnapped Drake, then Vartan and other Red Hawks arrive and calls Emery a race traitor. When Grayson pulls a knife on them the Red Hawks back off.
The next day, the Atrians pays their respects at Nox’s Atrian-style funeral. Roman hands over responsibility to Castor, and asks him to get the Trags to stop targeting Emery’s family, which Castor agrees.
Beaumont and Castor plot, they agree to keep Emery and Roman apart. Castor tells Beaumont that he answers to him now and he agrees (always knew that he was up to no good)
At the restaurant, Emery and Grayson hang out and share a hug before parting ways to head home with Vartan watching who follows Grayson and pulls up alongside him and orders him to get in the car. Vartan asks what was that about at the carnival which Grayson says his plan was too risky. Turns out Grayson is a Red Hawk as well – for he holds a knife that belonged to his brother and sees the Red Hawk logo.
Some allies are formed and people seem to be someone who they aren’t. There are enemies and friends on both sides with leadership changing hands on either side each with a common representative.
