We’re so excited to announce No. 1 selling British band and double BRIT 2019 nominees The 1975 as performers at The BRIT Awards 2019, alongside the already announced George Ezra, Little Mix and Jorja Smith.
Jason Iley, BRITs Chairman and Chairman and CEO of Sony Music UK & Ireland said: “Following their critically acclaimed, third consecutive No.1 album last year, I am pleased to welcome The 1975 back to the BRITs stage. After a fantastic year for the band, it’s great to see them join an already incredible line up, for what is sure to be an amazing night.”
The 1975 said: “We’re humbled to be nominated for two BRIT Awards and are excited to be coming back to The O2 to perform on the night. It will be a brilliant show!”
Nominated this year for British Group – which they won in 2017, and the Mastercard British Album of the Year, The 1975 released their third studio album ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships‘ last November to widespread critical acclaim and hit the No. 1 spot in the UK Album Charts for the third time. Currently in the middle of a UK arena tour, the Manchester four-piece headline two nights at The O2 this Friday and Saturday, before heading out on the road across the world.
The 39th BRIT Awards will be hosted by Jack Whitehall on 20 February. Clara Amfo and Alice Levine will be back to host this year’s Red Carpet show on ITV2 on the night of the awards for the third year running.
