The Originals returned on Tuesday night with episode 15 and we saw some very juicy development in the rift between Klaus and Rebekah as well as the return of two familiar faces.
In the Past
The episode opens in 1919 where Klaus and Elijah are partying with their werewolf friend. You might take note that werewolves, vampires and witches were all friends during this time.
In 1919, Klaus is well aware that Marcel and Rebekah are dating; he even gives them a toast. He even tells Rebekah she should be happy and that he wanted her to be happy, that why he kills her many loves.
Mikael talks to Marcel after seeing him with Rebekah, he can tell that Marcel wants Klaus gone as well but has no idea who he called. Mikael makes a promise not to harm Rebekah, and that he (Marcel) can have the city of New Orleans, but first he wants to know where Klaus is.
Mikael and Elijah fight where his father tries to convince him that Klaus is an abomination, he adds that he has a stake that takes their immortality and kills Elijah normally (don’t worry folks, he’s still alive)
Mikael finds Klaus at the Opera House. Mikael plans on killing everyone who ever remembered Klaus as well so no one will remember him. Mikael kills Klaus’ allies and ties Marcel to a stake on stage and compels the audience that it’s a comedy. Mikael burned down the Theatre, that’s why they thought Marcel had died in the fire.
In the Present
Klaus is in bed with the dagger in him that Elijah had stabbed him with. Elijah had called for Cami to help Klaus for she will be someone who Klaus will listen to and not kill straight away. Cami is also tasked with keeping at eye of him and to feed him her blood since its laced with vervain and it’ll keep him weak while she talks to him.
Meanwhile, Hayley has hold of Sabine/Celeste in the bayous. She wants her to undo the curse that she had done in the ‘90s. Cami asks why do he (Klaus) hates his sister and he reply because she ripped out his heart by bringing their father, Mikael to New Orleans. Cami thinks Klaus is consumed by revenge he’ll never achieve for his targets can be anywhere in the world right now.
Meanwhile, Rebekah and Marcel are hiding in their car thinking that Klaus will chase them down forever, thus they need a cloaking spell which makes Marcel want to bring back Davina. They have to kill the three witches – Bastianna, Genevieve and Sabine/Celeste – that brought Klaus down, at the same time Klaus realises this.
Elijah goes to visit Monique Deveraux and thinks that Sabine/Celeste will disappear. He says that there is a way for Monique to be safe no matter what her goals are.
Rebekah and Marcel go to Thierry for their help, where he is not unwilling to help them.
Sabine/Celeste gives Hayley a potion to break the spell that was put upon her werewolf family, that was until Elijah arrives, and not trusting what Sabine/Celeste says to Hayley, runs away with Sabine/Celeste and potion in tow. Elijah wants to know why Sabine/Celeste wants to help Hayley and the werewolves and it’s because Celeste knows it’s the worst thing for Elijah no matter what.
Thierry meets with the two witches – Bastianna and Genevieve – and tells them that Marcel and Rebekah are back and instead of going back on them, he actually lead them there. Marcel and Rebekah burst in where Marcel takes off Bastianna’s head, but Genevieve gets away and now they’ve got to find her.
Meanwhile, Klaus reveals to Cami that he has a white oak stake and he goes off to kill Rebekah and Marcel. Klaus is on his way to find his sister and Marcel with Cami after him, she tries to convince him not to do it and she points out that by hunting them down he’s going to be his father. Klaus shows her something.
Elijah returns back to Hayley with Sabine/Celeste, and gives back the potion and says it will work; he kisses her on the forehead instead of on the lip. Elijah wants to know Celeste’s endgame to which she replies the game never ends and adds that Rebekah and Marcel are back and Klaus is after them. Klaus answers Cami saying that he will simply kill them rather than torture them for years.
Elijah takes Sabine/Celeste to the cemetery, they leave but Elijah is trapped inside for there is a boundary spell on it. Resulting in Elijah and Rebekah, who came with Marcel to get Davina’s body, is also trapped. Sabine/Celeste decides its time for another body, so she kills herself, but unknown to her, Monique performed a spell that would put Celeste back in her original body, meaning that she’s back in the cemetery, Elijah greets her and then kills her with the same knife that Papa Tunde enchanted (so Celeste is now officially DEAD!) This results in Davina coming back to life making Marcel happy.
Klaus is in the cemetery as well to find Rebekah, this is somewhat juxtaposed against Mikael calling Klaus’ name in 1919. The episode ends with the Mikaelson siblings staring down each other – Elijah and Rebekah at one end and Klaus at the other end with the white oak stake in hand.
The next episode of The Originals – Farewell to Storyville – will air on Tuesday the 11th
