The Voice UK is BACK next month with the start date for the first series having been confirmed this week.
The 2016 series will kick off on Saturday, January 9, the BBC has confirmed and we can’t wait!
It will be the fifth series of the show and the last to air on BBC One after ITV pinched the rights to the format from 2017 earlier this year.
The Voice 2016 will see a new look panel: Superstar coaches will.i.am and Ricky Wilson return and they welcome alongside them legendary pop icon Boy George and multi-platinum selling singer Paloma Faith to those famous red chairs.
Presenting duo Emma Willis and Marvin Humes are back to host the show which show bosses promise will offer up “more talent, more tension and more drama than ever before.”
As always, The Voice will kick off with the blind auditions as the coaches sit with their backs to the stage.
Budding contestants will perform and if a coach likes what they hear they can press their button to spin around and select that act for their team.
But if more than one coach turns then things get interesting as it’s over to the singer to pick which team they join, prompting pitches, tears and drama as the coaches compete for the strongest line up of performers.
In all, the coaches are looking to select 12 potential stars before the seven rounds of blind auditions come to a close.
The opening episode of The Voice UK will also see the traditional group performance from the judges which this year is You’ve Got The Whole Lotta Love.
