Graham Norton has had some fantastic line-ups on his show but last nights’, certainly in the eyes of Tom Hiddleston fans, otherwise known as Hiddlestoners, was perhaps one of, if not the best, so far.
The star of upcoming gothic romance film Crimson Peak, as well as the adaptation of J.G. Ballard’s High Rise and Hank Williams biopic I Saw The Light, was joined on the red sofa by Kenneth Brannagh, Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro.
Already well known for his ability to do impressive, well, impressions of actors including Owen Wilson and Christopher Walken, both of which he demonstrated, he then went on to charm De Niro with an impression of the actor taken from his role in Heat, but not before he reiterated that his impressions are:
“an expression of admiration, to be clear.”
De Niro in turn heartily applauded Hiddleston’s efforts and there was no denying that the actor was delighted, if not somewhat humbled, to be sat alongside one of his idols as he babbled, blushed, fidgeted and laughed his way through the show.
Hiddleston’s appearance delighted his army of fans with many taking to social media to post about it.
Pen-and-james wrote on Tumblr:
“Tonight Tom Hiddleston stepped off the pedestal we often put him on for being so perfect. He showed us he’s just like us when meeting someone he admires: fidgety, nervous, blushing, bouncy, stammering, slightly uncontrolled. And I don’t think I ever loved him more than right now.”
“OMG TOM FANGIRLING OVER DE NIRO. HE JUST WENT FULL DORK ON GRAHAM NORTON. HAHAHAHHAHAHA.”
