Louisa Johnson has been crowned the WINNER of The X Factor 2015 in tonight’s final results.
Saturday evening was the first half of the weekend’s final as the then three remaining contestants became two when Che Chesterman finished in third place.
Tonight the final concluded as Louisa faced Reggie n Bollie in a head to head race for victory.
The show began with a special performance from all of this year’s live show finalists as they all returned to the show to sing a group cover of Downtown by Petula Clark with a Macklemore twist.
Following the first guest appearance of the night from Coldplay singing their new single Adventure Of A Lifetime, the final two made their first performances as they each sang their ‘Song of the series’.
Reggie n Bollie did an epic mash up of What Makes You Beautiful, Cheerleader and Move It while for Louisa it was her take on It’s A Man’s Man’s World.
One Direction then performed their new single Infinity before some famous faces, including James Cordon, 5 Seconds Of Summer, David Beckham, Danny DeVito and Simon Cowell had some farewell messages for the boys. Following this, the boys took the stage again to perform fan favourite History.
The finalists then returned with their potential winner’s tracks, each singing their versions of Bob Dylan’s Forever Young.
One last guest performance followed with Adele taking to the stage with a belting cover of her worldwide hit Hello.
Then, after TWO HOURS, it was finally time for the actual result.
Hosts Caroline Flack and Olly Murs took to the stage along with Louisa and Reggie n Bollie as well as their respective mentors, Rita Ora and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.
With over 8 MILLION votes cast over the weekend, the WINNER of The X Factor 2015 was confirmed as Louisa Johnson!
17-year-old Louisa is the youngest ever winner of The X Factor and gives newbie judge Rita a win in her very first year.
Louisa had been the overwhelming favourite to win and had been tipped to triumph back in August during the very first show of the series after her first audition.
A crying Louisa sobbed: “I just… I imagined this day for so many years, you have no idea how much this means to me.”
After composing herself, Louisa performed her winner’s single Forever Young before being joined on stage by the rest of this year’s finalists.
The X Factor will be back for another series on ITV next year.
